43-Year-Old Struck By Vehicle In Bellport

A man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on Long Island.

The crash occurred around 5:20 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, in front of 1640 Montauk Highway in Bellport.

The crash occurred around 5:20 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, in front of 1640 Montauk Highway in Bellport.

A 71-year-old Bellport man was driving a 2010 Toyota RAV4 westbound on Montauk Highway when the vehicle struck a 43-year-old man as he was crossing the road.

The man who was hit, a resident of Bellport, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the RAV4 was uninjured in the incident.

Detectives from the Suffolk County PD Fifth Squad are continuing their investigation and ask anyone with information to contact them at 631-854-8552.
